Adventures
YSOA Adventures are designed to challenge students physically, mentally, and spiritually, and can be custom tailored for any skill level, from beginner to experienced. Though challenging, the adventures are possible for just about anyone to succeed. If you have students with special needs, please e-mail gary@ysoa.org to discuss. Chances are very good that we can accommodate those needs.
Adventures are available to both individuals and organized groups. Depending on the activities, individual participants may be teamed with other individuals to form a small group, where new friendships can develop and teamwork can thrive. Organized groups may participate with only your group members and our staff, unless you prefer to be joined with others.
Students will learn leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and life skills, while developing a sense of purpose and self-confidence. Our caring and experienced staff will focus on making sure students are learning and having a good time as they develop the tools necessary to become productive adults.
Our adventures are also designed to fit with your schedule - from 1 day outings to week-long excursions. You may choose the length and the activities that best fit your needs and interests. If you prefer, you may participate in our exciting pre-planned events that include both adventure and service projects. Click here to see our pre-planned events.
YSOA Adventures happen year-round... wintertime offers many excellent & unique outdoor opportunities that are bug-free, but some of our activities, such as canoeing and swimming, are not well-suited for cold weather.
COST: $10 - $50 per person per day (depending on the activities)
This money is used to help cover the costs involved with conducting the activities.
Scholarships are available to students in need of financial assistance. Our desire is that every student will have the opportunity to participate regardless of household income. Click here for a Scholarship Application. |
All of our adventures include use of basic equipment and supplies needed to complete the activities, tents/lodging, and YSOA Staff. A packing list specific to chosen activities will be mailed to each registered participant.
